Question/Answer
How our tours work
Choosing clothes for the tour
When choosing clothes, you should pay special attention to the following points:
- protection from rain
- wading into the water from a boat, from sandbanks
- keep warm and not sweat
- freedom of movement and comfort
During the day during rafting:
WadersMade of membrane material. It's more convenient to use the ones with separate shoes, as they're much easier to dry. For a budget option, regular waders that cover the chest are also suitable.
JacketLightweight and breathable with protection from wind and rain.
While in camp:
- In the hot months: a light suit that is ventilated but not bitten by mosquitoes and midges
- In the month of the end of summer: a warm suit, definitely a membrane one
Air temperature:
The climate on the Putorana Plateau is sharply continental, which means that while the daytime weather is very warm, it can be cold at night.
Late June and July are quite hot, with daytime temperatures reaching 30°C (86°F) in some weeks, and nighttime temperatures ranging from 8°C (46°F) to 10°C (50°F). In August, the weather is moderate, with frequent rainfall, and daytime temperatures hover around 20°C (68°F), with moderate nighttime temperatures until mid-August. In September, daytime temperatures drop, with frost possible at night.
Be sure not to forget things like:
- headdress
- glasses/gloves
- individual medications
- a couple of sets of thermal underwear
- fleece sweater
- change of underwear/socks
- mosquito nets
- Camping shoes (for rocks, for sand)
Gear for our trips
Spinning rods:
- If you take two spinning rods, one with a test rating of 40-50g. The second with a test rating of 5-20g.
- If you take one, then with a test of 10-30 (the optimal option)
Coils:
- For two spinning rods 3500-4500 and 2500
- For one 3000 (optimal option)
Fly fishersYou should design your tackle for fish weighing 0.5-3.5 kg. By the way, fly fishing is unique, especially for grayling!
Taimen baits:
In first place is the MEPPS No. 5 spinner, in gold and copper (counterfeits often don't work). In second place is the BLUE FOX No. 6, in the same colors.
In third place we will put spinners weighing 20-40 grams of any color except for “glitter” ones.
Color variations: crimson core, white petals. Speckled petals in vibrant colors. Black hues with orange flecks also work. Among MEPPS, consider the following varieties: TANDEM TROUT, GIANT KILLER (white color).
It's crucial to have bait like "Mouse" and "Chipmunk" in your arsenal. They weigh about 20 grams.
Of course, you can and should have other hardware with you, includingwobblers, edible rubber, streamers.
Lenok, grayling, whitefishAny spinners work, but again, avoid flashy colors. Preferred lures are #3 and #4 spinners, weighing 6-10 grams, with speckles on the blade and, preferably, a tassel on the treble hook. During the mass insect outbreak (July), grayling (especially) and whitefish switch to feeding on them. For this reason, the most successful fishing is with lures such as flies.
Braid. When using two spinning rods, choose 0.12-0.15 and 0.25-0.33. If you take one spinning rod with you, then a universal option is a thickness of about 0.22
How to choose a route
The main criterion is the trip time. We have about 11 fishing routes, but they are limited to specific months. First, choose your trip date and, using the schedule table on the main page, select one of the river options.
How to get to us
Travel independently to Krasnoyarsk, then fly from Krasnoyarsk to Turukhansk. We will meet the arriving group at Turukhansk airport and accompany them until their flight home.
Turukhansk Airport accommodates the following aircraft types: An-12, An-24, An-26, An-28, An-30, An-32, An-72, An-74, Yak-40, ATR 42/72, Cessna 208 and other class 3-4 aircraft, all types of helicopters. Maximum takeoff weight of aircraft is 36 tons. Runway classification number (PCN) 13/R/A/X/T
Force majeure circumstances
In the event of disruptions to flight schedules or bad weather, making it impossible to fly by helicopter to the fishing spots, we organize leisure activities and accompany you to the hotel. Our village offers various excursions.

What are we going to eat?
For breakfast, we prepare porridge, sandwiches, bacon and eggs, and pancakes. We have tea, coffee, and cookies. We take cold appetizers, cold cuts, sandwiches, and thermoses of tea and coffee with us on the rafting trip. Dinner at camp in the evening includes fish soup, venison borscht (if possible), and pork. Stewed potatoes with meat. Vegetable salads, sandwiches, cold cuts, cheese, sausage, and olives. Everything you need for tea and coffee. We prepare freshly caught fish in various ways: sugudai, lightly salted, pike cutlets, fried, and smoked. We bring homemade potato pies, chebureki, and cutlets from home.
Dangers of rafting
Bears are occasionally encountered. Typically, they are encountered while rafting down the river. Upon spotting a boat, they flee into the forest, preferring to avoid the unknown. In the summer, bears switch to a plant-based diet. They are uninterested in humans and avoid them. Bear cubs, on the other hand, are curious. If you encounter them, do not attempt to interact. The mother bear is always nearby. For safety, we distribute flares to tourists. The rangers on the rafting trip carry guns. There are no other dangers. Ticks are absent in our latitudes.
Fishing Guarantee
The only thing that can be guaranteed is that there will be fishing. There are plenty of fish like grayling, pike, and whitefish—which we always catch. Lenok and taimen depend on many factors, and responsible people can't make any guarantees. Everything depends on weather conditions, the right spot, the right gear, the right equipment, and the crayfish standing on the mountain whistling. 😉
We, in turn, offer recommendations on the best fishing spots and methods based on our experience. During our rafting trips, we've never had a group fail to catch a taimen.
