Yerachimo - a scenic tour

When visiting the Yerachimo, you'll find yourself in an incredibly beautiful taiga landscape. Many fishermen and tourists who have visited this Siberian river describe it as a place bordering on a fishing paradise. The gentle current and clear, cold water make it easy to spot fish even from a considerable distance. After landing by helicopter, the fishing experience of your dreams begins.

While rafting, you can catch decent-sized taimen, grayling, and lenok, not to mention plenty of pike and perch. The trees and shrubs surrounding the river create the impression of being in the Putorana jungle.

Erachimo's Trophies

In the summer, from this unique, clear water, you can catch a substantial, noble predator—the taimen, as they call it in Siberia, the master of the rivers—weighing over 15 kilograms. There are so many of them that our guests rarely leave without catching a large specimen.

Sometimes, during a single trip along the Yerachimo, dozens of taimen are caught, weighing over 7 kg. Whitefish, grayling, and lenok, along with numerous pike and perch, keep the fishing going throughout the entire trip. Sometimes, in a small section of the river, I've caught over 30 good grayling, weighing over 800 grams, in half an hour, not counting the small ones that I simply have to release. Therefore, many anglers really enjoy this relatively calm river. And the abundance of its waters will delight anyone. Moreover, the fish here are so unpretentious and will attack almost any bait, from spinners to mice. Incidentally, mice produce the largest trophies.

What to expect at Yerachimo

The shallow, cold waters are home to a large variety of large fish. As many anglers say, predators are found in every hole. The rafting route includes one easy, picturesque rapid and numerous riffles. The banks are densely dotted with lush vegetation, so fishing is primarily done from boats or from the water. The weather in this part of the reserve, even in summer, can be cool, with frequent light or heavy rains, which most often occur in the fall. Therefore, our fishing trip takes place during the summer months of June or July, when the weather in the Turukhansky District is at its most welcoming and favorable. While the days on Yerachimo are often warm, the nights can be chilly, so warm, dry clothing is a good idea when visiting Yerachimo.

A wonderful and rewarding journey

A visit to any Putorana Plateau tour is considered both rewarding and educational. Guests will learn many different recipes for authentic Siberian dishes they might have previously encountered or heard about only in restaurants. They'll learn how to cook smoked fish outdoors, and delight their friends with sugudai, malosol' (small-salted fish), or delicious pike cutlets.

A wonderful time spent on Yerachimo, catching multiple trophies, remains in the memory forever, and the photographs are a reminder of the large predators caught and of the divinely beautiful, pristine nature of Siberia.
