Foxes are considered one of the most popular trophies among hunters worldwide. The red fox's beautiful, warm fur commands a high price, and hunting this cunning creature is a fascinating and exciting endeavor.
The protected taiga of the Putorana Plateau is home to a vast array of wildlife, but foxes are found only in certain areas. Therefore, it's best to hunt these red-haired beauties in other regions of our vast homeland.
A spring goose hunt offers the chance to harvest game in abundance. Combining hunting and fishing in the unique natural setting of the reserve offers the opportunity to "kill two birds with one stone." Catching noble grayling and lenok, and adding hefty goose trophies to the mix, is a dream come true for any hunter or angler.
Winter hunting
Properly selected equipment and camouflage gear are crucial. If snowmobiles are unavailable, skis with skins (like deer or elk) lined underneath can be used instead. This allows for excellent gliding and protection from the elements. Camouflage should be applied not only to the gun, but to all other equipment.

How do you hunt foxes?
There are countless ways to hunt a fox, a member of the canine family. Each hunter chooses the most suitable option for themselves. Fox trophies can be harvested at any time of year. However, winter is the best time to hunt, when the fur becomes thick and especially attractive.
The most popular are:
· With an ambush of the captives;
· With decoys;
· Stealth and approach;
· With dogs;
· With flags;
· On vehicles (snowmobile).
At the bait from the ambush
This method of hunting requires nighttime hunting. Trophy hunting, especially after fresh snowfall, occurs under the moon. Moonlight allows for a more accurate and successful shot. Bait sites are areas where foxes have established themselves and are active.
You can use chunks of meat or animal liver as bait. Rotting meat works well. Foxes have a keen sense of smell and will quickly find a place to feast. Place the bait with its face and tail facing the blind. This will allow for a more accurate shot, and nothing will obscure the predator's view.
With decoys
Call hunting is used for many animals and birds. It yields excellent trophies. The difference is that, for example, when hunting geese, calls emit the sounds of female birds, while when hunting foxes, they squeak like mice or scream like hares.
With calls, hunting takes place during the day, around mid-afternoon. The sun begins to warm the air, and the predator emerges to feed. It's important to consider weather conditions and determine the wind direction so foxes can hear the call.

Stealthily from the approach
With this hunting method, trophies are tracked by existing tracks in the snow. They are easily found along forest edges or in ravines near fields. When approaching the animal, it's important to approach it from downwind to avoid spooking the fox with scents and noise. When spotting a predator, pay attention to the position of its ears. If they're alert, the fox suspects something is wrong. In such cases, stop and hold your breath.
With dogs
Hunting with dogs in Russia allows you to hunt virtually any game. When hunting foxes, hounds, greyhounds, and burrowing dogs are used. In this case, dogs become not only man's best friend but also his loyal companions.

With flags
This method is called "oklad" (a "frame"). The hunt is conducted by two or three hunters. Bright red flags are hung on a strong cord. They are distributed along every meter of the cord, which must be at least 100 meters long.
Before setting up the flags, it's necessary to find the predator's tracks and cord around the area with flags on all sides. Then, the hunters take up positions facing downwind. One of them acts as the beater, moving noisily from the far edge toward the ambush.
Briefly about the main thing
In addition to the fox hunting methods listed above, snowmobiling is another option. However, it's important to note that this method may not be legal everywhere. Before heading out to hunt these red foxes, you'll first need to obtain the necessary documents for their capture.
This option is similar to the last one (the stake), because someone acts as the shooter, and someone else drives the predator toward them. Fox hunting is a surprisingly exciting event, and many hunters eagerly await the opening of the season.
