Fishing for taimen in the mountain rivers of the Putorana Plateau: tactical considerations. Taimen is a legendary predator of Siberian waters, the king of cold rapids and deep reaches, capable of reaching one and a half meters in length and weighing over 60 kg. But nowhere does this giant salmon feel so free and powerful as on the Putorana Plateau—one of the most mysterious and inaccessible corners.

How to choose a taimen fishing reel: durability and reliability. Taimen—the "river tiger"—requires a reel capable of withstanding a 50-70 m jerk, leaps over the water, and a 20-40 minute fight. A standard pike reel will give up on the first cast. A taimen reel is a powerful machine with a reserve of strength, smooth drag, and corrosion resistance. Taimen Fishing from a Boat: Gear Selection and Tactics. Taimen fishing from a boat is the pinnacle of fishing skill in Siberia and the Far East. Fishing for taimen with live bait: how to choose and prepare bait. Taimen is a legendary predator of Siberian rivers, known for its strength and caution. Fishing with live bait remains one of the most effective methods, especially during periods when artificial lures are less attractive. Live bait imitates natural prey—small fish that form the basis of the taimen's diet—and provokes confident bites.

Fly fishing for taimen: the best flies and casting techniques. Taimen isn't a fish, it's a real river dragon that can drag you into the deep end if you're not careful. Catching them with a fly is like dancing with a tiger: it requires precision, strength, and respect for nature. I've tried it myself many times in Siberian rivers, and believe me, when
