When taking trophy fishing tours in a Siberian nature reserve, a whole arsenal of gear, tools, and equipment is needed to catch a large number of large predators. Often, the helicopter used to transport fishermen is loaded to the brim with gear. After all, for a successful trophy catch, you can never have too much gear.
Sometimes there are items that weren't useful or turned out to be unused. However, that doesn't mean they shouldn't have been taken along on a trip. Having a variety of tackle and baits is always a good idea. After all, fish are unpredictable. One day they'll bite on a spinner, but the next they might not even come close. This process is practically impossible to predict. Therefore, having your own arsenal is never a bad idea.

Necessary fishing gear and equipment:
Every angler knows the most popular types of tackle, lures, and baits. Let's take a closer look.
Spinning
When rafting, you'll most often need at least two or three spinning rods. They're divided into the following:
· The first one is for large fish species: taimen, pike;
· The second one will allow you to catch grayling, lenok and other fish that are not particularly large;
· And the third, if you have an ultra-light one, helps to pull out whitefish or its relatives, of which there are a large number in rivers and lakes.
As we can see, two spinning rods are a must, and anglers take the third one as a spare.

Lures
A variety of lures, whether fishing on rivers like the Yenisei, Kochumdek, and Severnaya, or lakes like the Agata, Epekli, and many other bodies of water, deserves special advantages. For the "tiger of Siberian rivers," taimen, it's best to use a spinner or spoon lure, with the most reliable hooks and guides.
Spoons that aren't reinforced for the heavy weight of predators are useful for catching other species in Siberian waters: perch, pike, grayling, and lenok. Various other types of spoons are also necessary for rafting.
There are many varieties, ranging from acoustic and oscillating, which can also be divided into several categories ( castmasters, pilkers, etc.). For fly fishing, you need a set of flies with varying degrees of sinkage and feathering colors.
Having a variety of wobblers to choose from is also a major advantage for landing a big catch. Additionally, a fake bait can help you catch decent specimens. It's best to have several rodents of different sizes, shapes, and colors. After all, not everyone will be able to return home from Turukhansk after catching a "river tiger" (taimen) or a "river crocodile" (pike).

Coils
There should also be several types of these fishing gear along the route. In addition to those designed for standard spinning, you'll also need fly reels. This method can yield excellent trophies in protected rivers.
You'll also need strong lines that can handle a trophy predator. Most often, this is braided line, capable of supporting the weight of taimen. The record caught on our routes so far is a river "tiger" weighing 26 kg. Braided lines are also essential for catching other noble Siberian predators.
Carabines
Such products also need to have a unique arsenal. They are designed for different fish species and weights, with varying lengths, reliability, and strength. Experienced anglers always have small snap hooks for smaller fish, while for giants, more massive and rigid products are needed.
Watercraft
They're indispensable companions on a rafting trip. Inflatable rafts and boats are also helpful for fly fishing. Sometimes, to avoid spooking the wary Siberian predators, you need to reach a specific spot in the water silently. Therefore, there's no better option than to reach it on any available watercraft.
The fishing gear and items listed above are not limited to this. Every fisherman always carries a whole ton of them. And this load will never become heavy or unnecessary. After all, it will allow you to catch a variety of large fish. Get a dose of excitement and adrenaline from reeling in "crocodiles or tigers" weighing 15-20 kg. And as anglers know, that's worth a lot.
